Trucco Tessile S.p.A. was founded in 1960 by brothers Giorgio and Piero Trucco who were previously involved in the commercial family textile and clothing business.
The company kept a craftsmanship profile up until 1970, manufacturing and supplying to the local market classical pyjamas made in woven fabric.
The following five successful years prompted the company to invest in machinery, and it truly evolved into a small-scale industry specializing in pyjama production.
Its subsequent further development was due not only to the seventies boom in the consumer market, but also to the intuition of Giorgio Trucco, who was amongst the very first in Italy to develop the brand new concept of sweater-style pyjamas.
Another fundamental and strategic step towards the consolidation of Trucco Tessile in the day underwear market was the acquisition of one of the most important Italian underwear companies: M.M.T. of Turin, founded in 1926, a leader in Italy in the production of a wide range of men’s, women’s, children’s underwear articles branded as Alpina.
Since October 1999 Trucco Tessile S.p.A. and M.M.T. S.p.A. have been united under the sole company name of Trucco Tessile S.p.A., with head office and factories in Savigliano.
